Roots Into The Future (for those with African ancestry)
| Tips for using 23andMe
- Only put surnames in the surnames field on your profile. This will make the Profile Smart Search work better for you.
- Don't miss any future 23andMe sales. Email help@23andme.com and ask to be put on the sales promotional mailing list.
- If you'd like to be easily contacted by potential relatives, make your profile public. You can do this by going to https://www.23andme.com/user/edit/privacy/ and checking the box next to the words "I want to make my profile publicly visible in Relative Finder and the Ancestry Finder Lab."
- If you aren't interested in Relative Finder, you may opt out completely by going to https://www.23andme.com/you/relfinder/, clicking "Update Your Profile", then selecting the "I don't want to participate in Relative Finder" option.
- Don't miss out on a potential surname match with a Relative Finder cousin. Use this chart to help you share the right number of surnames to identify a match.
- Make sure you don't miss any 23andMe emails by adding donotreply@23andme.com to your address book.
